Author Guidelines

Authors must comply with the following Substantive Requirements and Manuscript Guidelines:

General Information

Submitted articles must be original and must not have been previously published in any other journal or by any other publisher.

The entire journal submission process is conducted exclusively through the OJS system at the following journal website: http://jurnalragom.fisip.unila.ac.id/index.php/ragom

Online registration is completely free of charge.

Manuscript Guidelines / Writing Style and Format

1) Language: Articles may be written in Indonesian or English, using correct punctuation and effective sentence structure. Authors who are not native speakers of the chosen language are strongly encouraged to have their manuscript proofread prior to submission.

2) Format: Files must be submitted in Microsoft Office format (.doc/.docx). No other file formats will be accepted.

3) Structure: The manuscript structure must consist of the title, author names, abstract, and keywords, and the main text must include: Introduction, Methods, Results, Acknowledgments, and Conclusion, followed by the References.

4) Biography and Acknowledgments: Acknowledgments should be compiled in a separate section at the end of the article, before the Conclusion, and must therefore not be included on the title page, as a title footnote, or elsewhere. This section should list individuals or institutions that provided assistance during the research (e.g., language assistance, or proofreading of the article's data).

5) Paper and Layout: The article must be prepared on A4 paper (21 cm x 29.7 cm) with a 3 cm margin on the inner left side and a 2 cm margin on the right, top, and bottom sides.

6) Section Headings: Heading 1 must be written in small capital letters, left-aligned, bold, 12 pt Times New Roman, single spacing, and numbered using Roman numerals followed by a period. Heading 2 must be written in title case, left-aligned, bold, 11 pt Times New Roman, 1.15 line spacing, and numbered in small capitals followed by a lowercase letter and a period (e.g., a.). Heading 3 must be written in title case, left-aligned, italic, 11 pt Times New Roman, 1.15 line spacing, and numbered with a number followed by a closing parenthesis (e.g., 1)). Heading 4 is not recommended but is still acceptable if formatted as follows: capital letters, 7.5 mm left indent, 7.5 mm hanging indent, italic, 10 pt Times New Roman, single spacing, and numbered in small capitals followed by a closing parenthesis (e.g., a)).

7) Typography: The title and abstract must be presented in a single column, and the main text must also be presented in a single column. The title must be fewer than 12 words, written in sentence case with small capitalization, centered, bold, Times New Roman font, 14 pt size, and single spacing. The abstract must not contain images or tables; it must be justified, italic, 10 pt Times New Roman, single spacing, and must not exceed 200 words. Keywords must be precise and relevant, written in 10 pt Times New Roman with single spacing, and must not exceed 6 words. The main body of the manuscript must be presented in two columns with a 1.15 cm column spacing, justified alignment, 11 pt Times New Roman font, a 7.5 mm first-line indent, and 1.15 line spacing.

8) Length: The manuscript must be a minimum of 10 pages (containing between 5,000 and 8,000 words), including embedded figures, tables, and the reference list, excluding appendices. There is no need to adjust the page numbers in this template, as they will be reordered during the pre-press process.

9) Figures and Tables: Figures, including charts, diagrams, line drawings, web pages/screenshots, and photographic images, must be clear when printed. Captions must be placed below the table, justified, and numbered, using 10 pt Times New Roman with single spacing. Each caption must consist of a brief title (not placed on the figure itself) and a description of the illustration. Text within the illustration itself should be kept to a minimum, but all symbols and abbreviations used must be explained. Lettering on artwork must be clearly legible and proportionally sized, with a final print size of 7 pt for normal text and no smaller than 6 pt for subscript and superscript characters. Each figure must be accompanied by a brief description in the main body of the text. For layout purposes, please provide each high-resolution image (≥300 dpi) separately, in .tif/.jpg/.jpeg format, in a folder separate from the manuscript. In addition, please avoid referring to the position of figures/tables, e.g., "the figure below" or "the following table," as their position will be rearranged during the layout process. DO NOT place a border/box around your tables or figures to enclose them.

10) References: Articles must cite credible sources, arranged alphabetically according to the 7th edition of the American Psychological Association (APA) style, as exemplified below. Ragom prefers the use of a bodynote citation system within its articles and consistently follows the 7th edition of the American Psychological Association (APA) style. The editorial team recommends that authors use a reference management tool such as Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, or similar software. Priority should be given to recent journal articles, books, and other research, with books limited to those published within the last 10 years.
